Pretzels with Chocolate Dip

4 At-Home Valentine’s Date Night Ideas

Date nights are sort of a must when it comes to Valentine’s Day. Even if you’re not in a romantic relationship, the holiday is a great excuse for having a nice evening with a best friend or relative. And, while we LOVE fancy dinners and restaurants, they can often be over-crowded or have a limited menu on Valentine’s Day. So, we put together some date night ideas – inspired by our 4 sweet pretzel varieties – to help you celebrate Valentine’s Day in style, at home.

  1. Sweet & Salty At-Home Date Night: Keep things fun, light-hearted with an easy-to-make, interactive dinner menu followed by game night for two. For the meal, opt for DIY pizza night or a taco bar; both are affordable and quick to make. Also, they are customizable and require cooperation to make. During game night, put out a variety of snacks for dessert. Little bowls of chocolates and candies, plus some Sweet & Salty OMG! Pretzels make a delicious end to the meal. This date night idea is perfect for a newer romantic relationship or if you’re just in the mood to be silly.
  2. Sweet & Spicy At-Home Date Night: Romance is in the air with this Valentine’s Day evening idea. Turn the lights down low, light the candles, put on some music. When you plan dinner, think about something you could eat at room temperature and that is light, so that you won’t feel weighed down. For an appetizer, fresh figs drizzled with balsamic are delicious and have a sensual feel. For dessert chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne should do the trick!
  3. Salty Butterscotch At-Home Date Night: Think classic date night with this idea. Replicate a traditional steak house dinner (or get take out from a favorite establishment) complete with sides like creamed spinach and twice-baked potatoes. End the meal with a classic chocolate fondue, which can be easily made with a double-boiler or in the microwave. You can use delicious store-bought treats like pound cake, marshmallows and OMG! Salty Butterscotch Pretzels for dippers, along with some fresh fruit. After dinner, stream a classic rom-com like Sleepless in Seattle or Jerry Maguire
  4. Sweet Chili At-Home Date Night: Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you can’t try something different! From the menu to an activity, embrace something that’s exotic to you and your partner. Maybe that’s trying a new cuisine you’re unfamiliar with like Jamaican curry or chawan mushi (a Japanese custard). If you’ve been super busy and haven’t had time to really connect recently, devoting the whole evening to talking about your feelings may feel exotic. Or, if you want to kick things up a notch, try feeding one another or creating an in-home spa for after you eat.
