The yogurt can be flavored or plain, depending on the flavor profile you want to create. Plain Greek yogurt is the ideal choice for a more savory yogurt parfait or if you just want to decrease the amount of sugar being used.

The fruit should be fresh, so use what’s in season. You want the pieces of fruit to be bite-sized, so you can get a little of each ingredient in one spoonful. Berries are the most popular to use in a yogurt parfait; even blackberries should be cut in half. Larger fruits like mango and pineapple should be diced.

PRO TIP: You can use frozen unsweetened fruit, if needed. If you go this route, let it thaw completely and gently squeeze out any excess moisture before building your fruit and yogurt parfait.

The crunch is the third layer of a fruit and yogurt parfait and is typically a crunchy granola. Of course, we have a pretzel-tastic idea - crushed OMG! Pretzels. The seasoned sourdough pretzel nuggets give a light, airy crunch and our unique seasoning blends add something special to each bite. The most popular varieties to use for a yogurt parfait recipe are Sweet & Salty and Sweet & Spicy.

How to Make Fruit and Yogurt Parfait

It’s all about the layers when it comes to making fruit and yogurt parfait. Try to make each layer even and distinctive. This really elevates the look of your parfaits.

Choose your glasses. It’s best to use a clear glass, so you and your guests can see what’s inside. If you are serving a lot of other dishes, you can opt for shorter or smaller glasses. If the fruit and yogurt parfait is serving as your breakfast or is on the brunch table with just a few pastry options, use a larger glass for each parfait.

To make fruit and yogurt parfait, it’s just a few simple steps. Start at the bottom of the glass with yogurt, then add a layer of chopped fruit, followed by a layer of crunch. Continue this process until your glass is full.

If serving these at a party, place the glasses on a tiered tray or pretty platter. If you are enjoying the fruit and yogurt parfait on your own, you can make 4 at a time and let them stay in the fridge covered until you’re ready to eat them.
