4 Summer for July 4th

4 Summer Snacks to Celebrate July 4th

July 4th is one of those holidays that is all about food, fun and fireworks. Whether you are gathering by the pool with family and friends or just packing up some snacks to take to the fireworks display, here are some summer snack ideas that will make your celebration delicious.

  • All American Cheeseball with Garlic Pretzel Dippers. Using the quintessential flavors of American favorites, this cheeseball is super flavorful and fun. Mix softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar with chopped dill pickles for the center of the cheeseball. Then, roll the ball in cooked, chopped bacon and chives. Serve with OMG! Garlic Pretzels for dipping to complete this summer snack.
  • Flag Trifle. For a sweet summer snack, this dessert will be the star of your July 4th celebration. You can make it the day before to save you time the day of your July 4th party. You need an 11×13 clear dish, then layer it up. The top layer is the only one you have to take your time with. Here’s how we did it: For the bottom, use OMG! Sweet & Salty Pretzels. Then, layer on a mixture of vanilla pudding and whipped cream. Smooth it out and then add fresh strawberries and blueberries on top in a design to mimic the stars and stripes of the American flag.
  • Red, White & Blue Snack Mix. As summer snacks go, this one is super simple to put together, but has lots of flavors. For the base, use popcorn and crunchy OMG! Salty Butterscotch pretzel nuggets. Then, add in dried cherries or cranberries (for the red), dried blueberries (for the blue), and white chocolate chips (for the white). You can also add in some nuts for additional crunch and saltiness.
  • S’mores Dip with Sweet & Salty Pretzel Dippers. This dessert dip is easy to make and a great summer snack. For the 4th of July, make it fancy on top by coloring some of the marshmallows red and blue with sanding sugar so the whole thing looks like the American flag. All you need is a square baking dish to get started. In the dish, lay squares of milk chocolate to cover the bottom. Then, top with the marshmallows and bake it at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the chocolate is melted and the marshmallows are gooey. We like to use OMG! Sweet & Salty pretzel nuggets for dipping instead of graham crackers.

We hope you have a festive July 4th holiday. Happy birthday, America!
