Sweet & Spicy Strawberry Pretzel Salad

This retro side is the perfect blend of salty, spicy and sweet for a hot summer day. The filling and gelatin have a cooling effect and the spicy notes in the OMG! Sweet & Spicy Pretzel crust moves this from the dessert table to the sides offerings. Not into strawberries? You can swap out the gelatin and fruit for raspberry, cherry or blueberry.

Ingredients
  

Topping

  • 2 packages strawberry-flavored gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 packages frozen strawberries, thawed

Crust

Filling

  • 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in strawberries; refrigerate until partially set, about 90 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350ยฐ F. In a medium bowl, mix the OMG! Pretzels and butter until combined. Press into ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes and then cool completely.
  • In medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, Cool Whip and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth.
  • Spread over the cooled Sweet & Spicy crust. Cover and refrigerate.
  • Once itโ€™s jiggly but not too firm, carefully spoon gelatin topping over the creamy filling. Refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours or until firm. To serve, cut into squares.
