Even if you don’t love cooking, a hummus platter is an elegant way to entertain friends and family with store-bought ingredients and some fresh veggies. A hummus board is similar to a charcuterie board, but instead of using meats and cheeses, the focus is on the delicious vegan dip made from chickpeas.

Premium Ingredients = Recipes that WOW
The hummus. You can obviously make your own, but there are so many good quality options in the deli section of the grocery store, we say take the help! We recommend opting for a brand that uses natural ingredients. We also like to grab two or three different flavors of hummus for your hummer platter.
Popular options include classic, garlic, lemon, red pepper, and everything spice. There are even dessert hummus options available if you want to serve a hummus board for dessert.
The vegetables. Freshness and variety are the keys to making a fabulous hummus platter. Choose vegetables in a variety of colors, textures and shapes to add visual interest to your hummus board.
Cut some in circles and others in strips; use mini zucchini or corn for even more fun. Some classic choices are carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers and celery. We also recommend adding some radishes for a hint of bitterness.
The dippers. A good hummus plate should include crackers, pita or, our favorite, pretzels for dipping. If you include pita, be sure to warm it up before serving. We like the combination of the crunch from our seasoned sourdough pretzel nuggets with the creamy hummus.
We also like entertaining with bite-sized dippers like our pretzels, so there aren’t any awkward moments while people are eating and chatting.

How to Make a Hummus Platter
You can make a hummus platter in just a few simple steps.
- Choose the board or plate you want to use. Consider how many people you are serving and how many types of hummus you want to feature.
- Wash and dry your veggies. Then, cut them up.
PRO TIP: If you opt to use mini corn or zucchini, blanch them in boiling water for about 3 minutes; add them to an ice bath to stop the cooking and help them keep their color. - Add the hummus to the board. To keep your hummus platter from getting too messy, we like to use small bowls to hold the hummus.
- Place the veggies and other dippers around the hummus on the board.
- Enjoy!
