OMG! Garlic Proutonsâ„¢ with Chopped Italian Salad
Spring is the perfect time for fresh veggies and eating lighter. But, you know we love a good crunch, so our salads MUST include proutons. You heard us right! Our gourmet sourdough pretzel nuggets are a great substitute for the traditional crouton with a few added benefits: amazing crunch, fantastic flavor, beautiful presentation, and healthy carbs. This salad idea is perfect for a hearty lunch or as an appetizer for Sunday pizza or pasta night.

Ingredients
For the salad:
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
- ½ hothouse cucumber seeded and sliced into half moons
- ½ red onion thinly sliced
- ½ cup cherry tomatoes halved
- 1 cup button mushrooms sliced
- 1 can chickpeas drained and rinsed
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Optional: 8 slices Genoa salami or ham chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup OMG! Garlic Pretzels
For the dressing:
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- 1 clove garlic grated or finely minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Wash, dry and prep all the vegetables. Place in a large serving bowl.
- In a dressing shaker or large measuring cup, combine the dressing ingredients until emulsified.
- Drizzle about one-third of the dressing onto the vegetables and toss.
- Add the cheese and meat (if desired) and toss again. Add additional dressing as needed.
- Top with OMG! Garlic Pretzels proutonsâ„¢. Enjoy!
