Simple Turkey Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 can each of black and red beans
  • 15 ounces canned tomato sauce or diced tomatoes
  • 2.5 cups chicken or vegetable stock

Toppings (optional):

  • Shredded cheese
  • Scallions
  • Sour cream
  • Buffalo OMG! Pretzels

Instructions
 

  • Dice onion and peppers. Rinse beans.
  • Saute onions in olive oil on low heat with a sprinkle of salt until soft; about 5 minutes.
  • Add brown sugar and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  • Add spice mix and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add peppers, beans, tomato sauce and stock. Cover and simmer for at least 45 minutes and up to 2 hours.
