Italian Sushi Recipe

Italian sushi isn’t actually sushi at all, but it looks like it when all the ingredients are rolled up. Also known as prosciutto sushi since it takes the place of the nori or seaweed, you can create your own version, but this is our favorite way to make it. It uses classic charcuterie ingredients with the crunch of our flagship Garlic seasoned sourdough pretzel nuggets.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces of prosciutto
  • 1 ball of fresh mozzarella or burrata
  • ¼ cup baby arugula
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • ½ cup of Garlic OMG! Pretzels

Instructions

  • Layer 4 slices of prosciutto on a small cutting board, slightly overlapping the meat so it stays together when you roll the Italian sushi.
  • Tear half of the ball of cheese into pieces and layer them onto the prosciutto down the middle.
  • Drizzle on 1 tbsp of balsamic glaze.
  • Lay fresh baby arugula on top.
  • Add 5 Garlic OMG! Pretzels in line on top of the arugula.
  • Roll up the Italian sushi with the strips of the prosciutto being vertical.
  • Cut into 5 pieces - one for each pretzel nugget.
  • Repeat steps 1-7 with the remaining ingredients.
